We designed our first-visit experience to feel less like a doctor's office and more like being welcomed into a friend's living room. Here is everything you need to know before you arrive.
A valid driver's license, state ID, or passport. We verify your identity at check-in for your safety.
Front and back. If you have secondary insurance, bring that card too. No insurance? No problem. Ask about our sliding fee scale.
Include prescription drugs, over-the-counter supplements, and vitamins. Dosages are helpful but not required on your first visit.
If you use an app like Flo or Clue, have your last few cycles ready to share. A rough estimate of your last period works too.
Some insurance plans require a referral from your primary care doctor. Check with your plan before your visit to avoid surprises.
Write them down. We set aside time during every appointment for your questions, so do not feel rushed.
Forget everything you know about doctor's office check-ins. At MomDoc, there is no sliding glass window and no clipboard full of redundant paperwork.
When you walk through the door, a Patient Advocate greets you by name. You will sit in our Living Room, a space designed with comfortable furniture, warm lighting, and a calm atmosphere. The administrative details of your visit are handled personally, face to face, by a team member with a tablet.
Your first appointment typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. New patient visits are intentionally longer than follow-ups because your provider wants to get the full picture of your health history, your goals, and any concerns you have right now.
Here is the general flow:
You do not need to do anything special. Come as you are. A few optional steps can make your visit smoother:
Within one to two business days of your appointment, your provider's office will reach out with any lab work or test results. Your provider may also call you directly if anything needs follow-up.
If your provider recommended follow-up care, our front desk team will help you schedule your next appointment before you leave. For specialty referrals, our team handles the coordination and will reach out with scheduling details.
Have questions between visits? Call us at 480-821-3601. We are available Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM, and Saturdays, 8 AM to 5 PM.
If your first visit with us is for pregnancy care, plan for a longer appointment (about 60 to 90 minutes). You will meet your provider, confirm your pregnancy with lab work, and receive a detailed overview of what your prenatal care schedule will look like.
Bring any records from a previous OB/GYN or fertility specialist, as well as any prenatal vitamins you are currently taking so your provider can review them.
